NEWSWAVE - International Women’s Day

CHAOS Radio Season 3 Episode 9

In the latest episode, we mark International Women’s Day with the awe-inspiring team at The Women's Centre Cornwall who, in their own words, hosted an event at IntoBodmin on March 8th to celebrate, reflect and vision a world in which women and girls are empowered to fulfil their potential free from inequality, violence and oppression.

Janice Rose and Tom Howe were there and had the chance to speak to some truly incredible women - including Anne-Marie Bala, co-ordinator for the international women's group at The Women's Centre Cornwall and from Beth Williams, their communications and training coordinator.

We also hear from Charlotte Patton, a women’s health doctor at St Austell Healthcare, who joined CHAOS straight off the stage following a powerful panel discussion on women's rights around the world.

Away from that but continuing the theme of supporting powerful women in the community, we are joined by Emma Jenkin, of Kowethas an Yeth Kernewek, as we celebrate and look ahead to Pennseythen Gernewek, a weekend designed to give Cornish speakers and learners a chance to use the language in an enjoyable way and in a friendly, stress-free and relaxed environment.
