NEWSWAVE - World Cancer Day
In the latest episode, we join TV personality Julia Bradbury - rather a familiar and friendly face to us here in Cornwall - as she lends her support to a campaign with MSD Animal Health and StreetVet designed to tackle homelessness barriers for pet owners in the region.
With World Cancer Day falling on Tuesday, the 04th of February, we check in with Matthew Jeffery, a local runner on a mission to complete the world’s six biggest marathons and raise £100,000 for cancer charities after his own thyroid cancer diagnosis.
As well as that, we take a trip to Macmillan Cancer Support to hear from Leanne Thomas about how their incredible team are there to help at every stage of the journey.
If all that wasn’t enough, we hear from Debbie Peters, a Bowel Cancer Screening Nurse at Royal Cornwall Hospital, to highlight the life-saving importance of early screening, and that’s part of an ongoing campaign from NHS Cornwall and Isles of Scilly that’s dedicated to helping you stay well this winter.
